Q: What is the CQC and how will it affect me?
A: The Care and Quality Commission is a government body set
up to ensure that all private ambulance providers are up to a
minimum standard, employ adequately trained staff and adhere to set
guidelines on vehicles, cleanliness and service to the public.
Anyone planning an event is advised to check that the company
providing a quote is registered with the CQC. Unregistered companies
will be fined up to £6000 if they fail to comply with the new
regulations. Areas covered include provision of a Paramedic or
Nurse, or ambulance cover where patients are transported over any
distance.
Q: Are your Paramedics registered?
A: Yes, it is a criminal offence for anyone to call themselves a
Paramedic if they are not registered with the Health Care
Professions Council. For your safety and that of your attendees we
recommend you check out any 'Paramedic' using the search for surname
or registration number.
Q: Why are your prices higher than some
other companies?
A: We are a professional company who employ paid staff, experienced
in their field and trained in the latest methods and equipment. To
employ professional staff costs money and providing the correct
equipment properly serviced is also not cheap.
Some companies will
use volunteers to keep costs down, others may not use trained staff,
serviced equipment or carry insurance. It is your choice, we are
lucky that our reputation keeps our customers loyal.
Q: What are your credit terms?
A: Our standard terms are 30 days from invoice date unless
agreed by the Directors prior to contract.
Q:The Purple Guide says 4 First Aiders do I have to have
that many?
A: The quick answer is maybe, the guide can only form part
of your risk assessment. By using the risk score and experience from
previous similar events we will be able to advise on the best level
of cover.
Some events will only need a solo medic, others may need
an Ambulance due to some specific risk. If in doubt please ask!
Q: I want to be an EMT, how do I go about it?
A: We are able to offer EMT training to First Responder
(EMT-FR) Basic (EMT-B) and Intermediate (EMT-I) at our training
rooms in Brighton or your place of work for groups of 4 or more
students. Exams are conducted via the AREMT. Please contact us for

A: That is a great idea, we use the following site to test
